ABOUT ME
I began my research career at Oklahoma State University at the age of 15. Following the desire to gain insight for how laboratories operated, and with the hope of gaining as much experience as early as possible, I requested to volunteer in Dr. Alexander Ophir's lab, with his graduate student, Marissa Rice.
A few months afterwards, Dr. Ophir accepted an offer to work at Cornell University, NY and kindly wrote an email about my pursuits and work ethics to other professors in the department.
As a result of his departure, I pursued contacting several other professors and soon began my volunteer work under the leadership of Reagents Professor, Dr. Scott McMurry, whom I would work with through the end of high school and through nearly the entirety of my undergraduate degree.
Initially, I worked alongside Dr. McMurry's Ph.D. candidate, Patrick Cusaac, with his various projects for several years. After Patrick's graduation as Dr. Cusaac, I started my own research project with honey bees.
I've had so many opportunities over the years working in labs and in the field. Animal husbandry, behavioral assays, toxicological studies, writing and presenting my research in a variety of ways, and teaching lab sections for freshman are some of the many experiences I've gained so far.

I'm also very excited to update my website with my experiences working toward a position with the Smithsonian National Zoo!

To students/future graduates/general public: If you are curious about some of the work I've done, please read through my Activities Blog page or use the Contact Me page with questions at any time!

Best wishes!
